Inp.polri.go.id - Depok. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Security Maintenance Agency Sabhara Corps deployed 305 joint officers, specialized operational vehicles, search-and-rescue (SAR) equipment, and tactical working animals to anticipate potential natural disasters, specifically floods and landslides, heading into late 2026.
The operational readiness was demonstrated during the 2026 Disaster Readiness Roll Call led directly by Head of Sabhara Corps Inspector General Jossy Kusumo in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java, on Wednesday 4/11/2026). The joint contingent comprises 260 Sabhara Corps officers, units from the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Fire and Rescue Services, and local Disaster Management Agencies (BPBD).
"Police with the community, together we face disasters, together we save lives," Chief Jossy said during his address.
To navigate complex disaster terrain, the Sabhara Corps deployed specialized K-9 SAR tracking dogs to locate buried victims and Mounted Police (Kuda Turangga) units for patrol and logistics delivery in isolated areas. Tactical assets also include forest fire response vehicles, flood rescue inflatable boats, mobile field kitchens, and atmospheric water generators to guarantee clean water supply for impacted populations.
